A New House . . .

So again a lot ahs happened since I last wrote. We are in the process of buying a house! We have to first and foremost give credit to God for providing this house -- a miracle in itself. Next we have to thank the Simmons who are selling us their house! With out these guys we would never have known about this oppertunity.

All of this is happening so fast. We are trying to close by the 19th and we only learned about it about two weeks ago! So we are busy, busy, busy. Trying to get all of our paper work in order as well as trying to stay on top of class work is a challange. The good news is that although all sorts of things are happening at once they are all exciting.

Please pray for us as we prepare for this move and the many other crazy obligations that we have at the same time. Pray that the closing goes smoothly and that we will not have any problems!

Update

It has been a while since I last wrote. Charles has just completed his third week at Navy Federal. He is really enjoying his time there so far. He is still in training and is looking forward to getting into the dirty work of collections! He is glad to be back at work, but misses his time with Charlie very much.

I am currently about half way through my last semester. I am trying to stay focused on my work and not taking it too easy so I can graduate! I have my dates for my senior show -- It will be up the week after Thanksgiving break. My opening will be Wednesday of that week.

Charlie is growing like a weed. We went and had his first haircut today! He looks like a big boy now. He really enjoys playing outside and can wonder for hours. His new tricks include finding his nose and his head. He can also blow kisses and will come when you ask for smooches.

I will try to be better about keeping this up to date, but it really falls low on the list for right now. I will try to get up some pictures of Charlie's haircut later on.

Where to start . . .

A lot has happened since I last posted. We went on a very interesting vacation to Hilton Head via Selma, NC and South of the Border! We ran into a lot of car trouble after having a semi-truck tire kicked into the path of our car. Lets just say the we ran over the tire 8/4 and I finally picked it up from Eugene's Auto Sales in Hamer, SC with Kerry this past Thursday.

Unfortunatly, this past Tuesday Charles was laid off. He knew it might be happening with the downturn of the mortgage industry recently. His company shut down all mortgage operations country wide so he is diligently looking for a new job. He interviewed today with Navy Federal and feels confident. He brought home information about there benefits and they really offer a lot to there employees. So if you will keep him in your prayers the next couple of days while he waits to here back.

Charles started his fall classes this past Thursday and I start mine this Monday. It is my last semester and I am very excited! Charlie is just hanging out and growing! He is learning to point to what he wants and is eating everything! He chose to eat tomatoes over nectarines the other day. He also picked up the taste for peaches in SC and can eat them whole. He has a cute way of clapping that we need to get on video, he stops before we can catch it.

Our next adventure for this weekend is participating in the Blue Ridge Bridal Shocase this Sunday. We hope to meet some potential customers and make various contacts with other vendors. We would love to grow our business to doing a bunch of weddings a year and hope this will help jump start this next season.

New Job

About a month ago I interviewed for a part time administrative assistant position. After not hearing about it for a while I figured the position went to another canidate. About two days ago I received a message that the woman looking to fill the position called and wanted to speak with me. So on Friday morning I called her back and she wanted to know if I was still interested. She had taken so long because she was looking for a company to do a background check on the potential applicants. So pending the return of my background check (not too worried. I have never gotten a ticket, been arrested, and my credit is good) I will be gainfully employed!

Vets for Freedom

Yesterday Charles had the opportunity to go meet with Senators at the Capitol to discuss the war in Iraq. He heard about this opportunity while listening to C-SPAN, so he took the day off and went into DC. Along with other members of the group, Vets for Freedom, Charles was able to tour the Capitol and Senate buildings. He was really excited about all the sights! A really cool thing is a subway that runs underneath the buildings to transport the Senators. Charles even got to ride in a Senator only elevator. He was really excited about being in the different Senator offices and meeting Senators Lieberman and Martinez. He had lots of stories to share!
